Mister Green Lesson Suggestions Sought

Greetings Students, I’m Mister Green.

 

That’s what I say to my kiddos when I’m their substitute teacher.

I am going to be going beyond being substitute teacher soon in that I’m applying for my teaching credential and hopefully this time next year I will have my own everyday classroom. As much as I enjoy the adventure of being in a different classroom almost every day teaching everything from preschool to high school, substitute teaching just doesn’t pay a living wage.

One thing I’m going to start doing soon is making brief educational videos aimed at the fourth-grade level, or rather a beginner level because adults could learn from these videos too. These videos will be short, 3-10 minutes, to explain the topics in a clear way that kids can follow and understand.

I am a skilled writer and video editor. I have the ability to take very complex topics and distill them into byte-sized bits that make those complex topics knowable.

Some of the first videos I’m planning include:

 

* Why is the sky blue?

* What happens when water boils?

* Is Pluto a planet and why does it matter or doesn’t matter?

* Other topics

HERE’s WHAT I’D LIKE TO ASK YOU, FINE FOLKS:

What subjects do you think I should make videos about? What things do you think kids, or yourself, don’t know but would like to know? If you have kiddos or grandkiddos, perhaps you could ask them. Post your ideas in the comments.
